I created Magic Moments following an international career where the need for clear thinking and remaining calm under pressure was paramount. Ten years in I discovered I was living in a perpetual state of planning for the next work-related crisis, whilst missing out on actually enjoying my day to day life.
I'd always been curious about what makes us tick and over the years I've indulged that curiosity with a number of interrelated courses. Amongst others these courses have included:
• (MBSR) Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction at Brown University - the home of mindfulness
• Introduction to Neuroscience via HarvardX - Harvard's online learning platform
• Breath Work and Meditation Coach certification - registered with Yoga Alliance
Thanks to early career work within the aviation safety sector I've also been trained in a number of complementary areas and skills including:
• Psychological first aid
• Human Factors
• Emotional Intelligence
Growing up a dancer I know first-hand the meditative grace that can be found when fully absorbed in movement. Undertaking training as a Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructor ensured I have the knowledge to guide you safely through any movement based practices.
• 200 hour vinyasa yoga teacher training - registered with Yoga Alliance
Having knowledge is one thing - knowing how to pass that knowledge onto others effectively is another. My career has seen me teaching in both classroom and on the job settings:
• New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching
I've been fortunate enough to live and travel internationally, and to work with VVIPs including heads of state and foreign dignitaries; I bring that same level of exceptional customer service and global perspective to Magic Moments.
"You teach so professionally and the quality is way beyond most of the yoga classes that I've attended in my life, so I just wanted to tell you how amazing your teaching is... you have such a deep understanding of the practice and you bring so much knowledge and mindfulness beyond the mat."
